House Committee on Education and Labor Holds Hearing on Job Creation
On Friday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m., the House Committee on Education and Labor will hold a hearing in Washington, DC to focus on the nation’s severe unemployment outlook and strategies to spur job growth, as part of efforts to lay the groundwork for a comprehensive economic recovery and job creation program.
The witnesses will be

*Jared Bernstein, Director of the Living Standards Program at the Economic Policy Institute
*Ron Blackwell, Chief Economist for the AFL-CIO
*Christopher Hansen, President and CEO of AeA (formerly the American Electronics Association)
*Robert Pollin, Professor of Economics and Founding Co-Director of the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst
*Dana Stevens, an unemployed worker from Thorofare, New Jersey
*William W. Beach, Director of Center for Data Analysis at The Heritage Foundation
