Colorado Coalition Participates in Poverty Reduction Task Force Meetings
The Colorado Half in Ten Campaign is educating and reaching out to individuals across the state for their support in reducing poverty. The campaign attended multiple fairs and other events to provide information about policies that will help reduce poverty and to inform individuals about how they can take action. The campaign attended community events in Denver, Thornton, and Grand Junction this past month.
Half in Ten Campaign members also are organizing many upcoming events. The Serious Women, Serious Issues, Serious Action conference will take place on Saturday, October 2. The conference will include a breakout session where participants can learn more about the campaign. Colorado Half in Ten members also participated in the Economic Opportunity and Poverty Reduction Task Force meetings in Boulder on September 23 and will participate in the upcoming Denver meeting on October 1. These meetings are being held throughout the state to compile personal stories from those directly affected by poverty. The task force meetings are also a great opportunity for community members to voice their concerns and propose solutions for reducing poverty to state legislators.
