Next month the Virginia Interfaith Center in partnership with Half in Ten will begin its fall advocacy trainings for members of the Commonwealth’s faith communities through a program entitled Social Justice University. The program is designed to connect faith with the importance of advocating for those with the least in their communities by engaging in the policymaking process.

Social Justice Universities are currently scheduled to take place with students at Virginia Commonwealth University and Quakers in a Richmond suburb, as well as diverse gatherings in Virginia Beach, Richmond City, Arlington, and Blacksburg. At the end of each program, constituents and staff work together to schedule meetings with local delegates and senators to discuss Virginia Interfaith Center priorities in preparation for the 2013 General Assembly.
