Summit to Realize the Dream
A national summit in Washington, DC on Wednesday, October 22 will bring together government officials, business leaders, social activists, and other public figures to initiate an five-year plan for realizing Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream for America.
The summit, hosted by Martin Luther King III, is sponsored by Realizing the Dream, Points of Light Institute, ServiceNation, Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity, and YouthBuild USA. Speakers will include:
• John Bridgeland, President of Civic Enterprises
• Jack Kemp, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
• Alan Khazei, Founder and CEO of Be The Change, Inc.
• John Lewis, U.S. Congressman from Georgia
• Marc Morial, CEO of the National Urban League
• Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University
• Charles Steele, Jr., President and CEO of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference
• Dorothy Stoneman, Founder and President of YouthBuild USA
• Jim Wallis, President and Executive Director of Sojourners
• Harris Wofford, former Senator from Pennsylvania
